


Robert J. Sassone founded his firm in 1977. He has been prosecuting personal injury and wrongful death cases ever since. His firm has also provided general legal services to the community since 1977, primarily in the areas of Family Law, Real Estate, Wills, and Estates.
Bob is one of the leading trial lawyers in Northern New York State. He has—over the years—won several verdicts and settlements all in excess of a million dollars on behalf of his clients. He has also successfully argued numerous cases before the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court and in New York State’s highest court, the New York State Court of Appeals. Several of those cases have resulted in important and precedent-setting legal decisions.
Bob received a Bachelor of Science degree from Clarkson University in 1973. He earned his law degree from Case Western Reserve University in 1976. While at Case Western Reserve, he earned many honors and awards, including the Dean Dunmore Brief Writing Award; the C.W.R.U. Moot Court Championship; the Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky Regional Moot Court Championship; and he was a finalist in the National Moot Court Championship sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers in New York City.
Bob has been appointed to the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission. As a member of the Commission, his duties include reviewing and evaluating the qualifications of candidates in the 4th Judicial District seeking election to become judges of the New York State Supreme Court, County Court, Surogates Court, and Family Court.
Bob has also been honored in the Personal Injury Law section of “The Best Lawyers in America, Consumers Guide.” He is a founding member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association; The New York State Trial Lawyers Association; the New York State Bar Association; and the St. Lawrence County Bar Association.
